BMA in Management Information Systems from University of Iowa
Spent working career in the automotive retail business beginning with DeFoe Motors (American Motors/Simca/Fiat) and ending with 34 years at Shimkat Motor Company (Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram).
Outside of work, served as lighting, sound, or technical director with multiple school and civic music and music theatre productions. Worked technically and performed with the Comedia Musica Players, the Fort Dodge Choral Society, the Fort Dodge Civic Glee Club, and church music activities. Have sung at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as well as with the Atlanta Symphony under the direction of Robert Shaw.
Have served as president of the Fort Dodge Area Symphony Board of Directors, chair of the Administrative Council of First United Methodist Church, and as a periodic lay speaker at First United Methodist, Asbury UMC in Webster City, and First Christian Church (FD).
